Meet the Local Independents: Montana
After 10 years in Hockley, street art and culture shop Montana moved to Sneinton Market avenues expanding into a bigger and better shop. Montana is an iconic shop in the city and has been the main supplier of artist paints for local artists and is the only Montana shop in the UK.
The spiritual home of Nottingham’s street art scene led by international street artist Steven Dilk and his partner Silvia Lam are building on their success. Their larger store has extended its offer of spray paints, art materials and clothing and provides spaces for art workshops and events.
Founder Steven Dilk started doing graffiti in Nottingham 1986. His work has frequently appeared across the city and he has a long track record of working on commissions and projects around the world including the Netherlands, New Zealand, Brazil, USA and Mexico.
When he’s not somewhere exotic creating beautiful artworks, he’s at Sneinton Market Avenues to welcome you to his store. The shop attracts people from all over the country, but everyone is welcome. Dilk and Silvia offer great service too, so if you fancy making some artwork or just need to up-cycle something with spray paint, then it’s a good place to start and you will get all the advice you need.
