Meet the Hockley Community: Wild Clothing

Wild Clothing, a 40-year Nottingham institution is perhaps the city’s first and most authentic vintage shop. Wild built its name back in the 80s when Hockley was first thriving location for independent clothes shops. It was one of the first shops in the city that embraced a newly emerging movement of vintage clothing, sourcing and curating a selection of classic styles from previous decades often with a strong Americana style. While it changed hands back in August 2023, it has retained the same level of cool and character.  Expect to find vintage leather jackets and tailoring, contemporary retro brands and authentic French workwear jackets. Wild is one of the original hip Hockley clothes stores that helped to kickstart the area revival back in the 1980s. Its enduring success is perhaps rooted in its cross-generational appeal. If you're sixteen you find a vintage piece for you just as much as you can if you're in your sixties. Wearing vintage clothes is now considered a normal part of a sustainable lifestyle, Wild Clothing were doing it 40 years ago, let's hope for another 40 years!
