Fruit Market Wins Housing Design Award
We’re delighted to share that Fruit Market has been awarded the ‘Healthy Life Award’ by the Housing Design Awards.
This is one of the most respected awards in the UK for progressive housing schemes and represents the only award promoted by the major professional institutions. It was first launched in 1948 and is the longest-running award of its kind championing excellence in sustainability and home design.
Well over 100 projects are submitted each year and are judged by an expert panel representing a broad mix of professionals including government agencies, designers, clients and other professionals in the industry.
Fruit Market was awarded for its innovative high-quality, low-energy homes and design approach. The development was also praised for its sensitive contribution to the transformation of the Sneinton Market area which has experienced considerable momentum in recent years and includes a cluster of innovative independent businesses, a regenerated market square and excellent leisure facilities.
Alec Hamlin, development director at Blueprint Regeneration, said:
“Every Fruit Market home is unique, combining a modern architectural design aesthetic with secure and efficient energy specification, and it is brilliant for this to have been recognised by such a prestigious award.
“Everyone has worked incredibly hard to create a high quality, city centre neighbourhood that really adds to this wonderful city.”
